Abnormality "Contaminating The Hive Mind" added to ChroniX Metal
Abnormality are a brutal technical death metal band from Massachusettes that formed in 2005. I remember listenening to their EP a couple years ago and thinking...ah, this is pretty good, but that was it. However, their most recent release Contaminating the Hive Mind blew me out. Vocalist Mallika Sundaramurthy's vocals have grown into the epitome of deathly gutteral growls.

Mechina "Empyrean" added to ChroniX Aggression
Mechina’s Empyrean album is finally out – excactly one year after its original expected release date of January 2012. Damn, I have to say, it was worth the wait. Empyrean trails along the same path as previous Mechina albums with its incorporation of synth with machine gun riffage. However, this album steps it way up with the addition of heavier vocals that contrast with a complex symphonic and choral backing...producing a kind of beauty and the beast affect. Throw in Eastern influence to the mix and this becomes one hell of an interesting album.
