Back in the day he wrote for Creem Magazine, and he's also worked in A&R and as a composer and engineer.  His tracks have been used on television shows, commercials and movies. And of course he has written for About.com Heavy Metal for the past few years. Once a month we let Lyons roar, giving him a platform to speak his piece on a music related issue. Countless metal musicians say that what drew them to death metal - or what initially repelled them but piqued their curiosity - was the cover art for bands like Cannibal Corpse and Deicide. R.I.P. Gwar's Dave "Oderus Urungus" Brockie

The metal world is mourning the loss of Gwar frontman Dave Brockie, known as Oderus Urungus.

According to the Richmond, Virginia police department, Brockie's body was discovered at his home on Sunday, March 23. He was 50 years old. His manager, Jack Flanagan, has issued the following statement:

Avenged Sevenfold Tour Dates

Hair Metal Memories: Stage Dolls
