Bloodstock Open Air’s first festival was headlined by Saxon. Paul Gregory, created the artwork for the group’s Crusader album, one of rock’s most classic compilations. He would go on to create artwork for further albums. Gregory and Vince, have since used their natural creativity and vision, along with inroads they have made in the world of metal music, to bring in some of the best metal bands in the country, both well known and underground bands.
 
In year’s past thousands of metalheads have gathered together in Derbyshire, Walton On Trend for three days of heavy metal music and partying. Kreator, Municipal Waste, Sodom, Katatonia, Anathema, Saxon and Wolf are amongst the monster, metal groups who have performed in the past.
