URIAH HEEP!!

Postby Meat5000 » Sat Dec 25, 2010 2:58 am

URIAH HEEP making a comeback with a new album in 2011??!! What the...

So what are they going to be? Classic Prog Rock? Old-man new-age? OK let's ponder it for a moment but remember that when they started 40-odd years ago the sound was as metal as it got. Gritty but fresh. Granted, nowadays it's as fresh as Genghis Khan's Codpiece but with a little nerve I'm quite sure they could pull off a break into the death metal scene. Man can live in hope but deep down inside I know I'll be hearing it on Planet Rock, not ChroniX.

Get yourself over to mp3dl and search some Uriah Heep. I recommend the old classic album "Very Eavy Very Umble", a quotation from the BBC take on David Copperfield, the Dickens from whence the band name came. I don't know which came first, the quotation or the album name. All I remember is Lyndhursts twisted shovel smacked face busting into the camera. (For this reason I assume the album came first).

Do you like Uriah Heep? Hate them? Have a listen and let us know what you think. It's as classic British as it gets, I'm sure.

Sweet! Let us know what it was like! (If you can remember!) I saw them way back in the late 80's; the Heinekin Big-Top festival. 4 days of free music from all the greats. Motorhead, Wishbone Ash etc. No pop. I'm very interested to see how they have progressed.

I'm trying to find and old line-up but it's pretty impossible. I think I went to 4 or 5 big-tops so its very possible Budgie played at 1 or 2 of them; they are old enough! I'm gonna keep looking around, I know a few other people that went. They were best festivals ever. Free entry BYOB.

I saw Uriah open up for Def Leppard here in August 1983. Some preppy fuckhead made off with my ticket stub after someone with me using it to get in gave it to the asshole.
